History
Our Story
We are proud of our rich Australian and adventure driven heritage dating back to the 1970’s which was ideated by a true 4×4 enthusiast. This forward thinker was award winning motor racer and off-road fanatic, Ed Mulligan. After another cracking day spent testing the capabilities of his cherished 4×4 rig with his mates, while exploring the natural beauty of our nation’s “backyard” Ed saw an opportunity. We call this his aha moment… he recognised that there were many off-road fanatics just like him, however no specialist store that serviced the 4×4 enthusiast needs. The vision for Opposite Lock set and the brand soon became recognised as the go-to place for off-road explorers looking for a great range of 4×4 accessories and equipment, seeking technical know-how, honest advice or simply a chat about all things off-road and 4×4 projection.
We’ve come a long way since then and our passion continues to grow. We still thrive for an off-road adventure with the chance to learn something new about our vehicles, discover a hidden oasis camping spot or simply escape for a few hours. We pride ourselves on providing our customers with a range of the best brands, quality fitting, full aftersales service, and peace-of-mind from our nationwide warranty’s. Our stores are supported by a team of trusted 4×4 Specialists with expert product knowledge and best in class service to provide you with the best off-road experience possible.
